So when I saw gently used ABR800 pop up on the For Sale section within the Canon Forums earlier this year for a really good price, I snagged it. For those unfamiliar with a ring flash, it is basically a flash unit with bulbs in a ring formation... Eventually macro photographers adopted the ring flash, and later on it began seeing use in portrait photography including in fashion and editorial photography. The ring flash was originally designed for dental use because it provides shadow-less lighting and is good for macro (close-up) photography. Ever since I started shooting portrait photography early last year, I was eyeing the Paul C. Buff ABR800 ring flash. A portable battery system at less than 4lbs would mean that a photographer could actually use an ABR800 in a mobile manner, but with far more power than a Speed(lite|light). Hence, the term “ring flash”....

Relating to this product or service:
To begin with important things, this Digital slr stabilizer is efficient, circular ring functions like a stabilizer, weighs in at only 3.7 pounds, can be used as several functions, award-winning layout. Immediately after many test runs evaluati handheld shots versus. this rig’s shots, that you are ready to drastically differentiate. When the shots have been dead quit, slow motion, or I had been operating with this particular Digital slr steadicam, it had been persistently softer (not excellent plainly, but smooth).

I’m filming my first wedding tomorrow and am in the market for my first DECENT tripod. Up until this point I’ve really only used ones from my course or the odd cheapie from friends or for ‘point and click’ cameras.
So the last 24 hours have been a muddle while I have tried to get my head around what to look for in a professional (low budget, $250 – $350) tripod.
I first enquired into Miller tripods, having worked with them before, I thought they would be best. Unfortunately I felt the terms on the site were a bit confusing and so I sought out info to help me understand what kinds of specifications I should look for and what certain terms meant. But after reading a few forums and sites such as 5D Filmmaking I was introduced to the world of Manfrotto.

this one..thank you!
In the description it states: "This head is great for 35mm SLR and DSLR cameras with medium lenses."
So that means it isn't strong enough for a big zoom lens.

Yes, it will fit it. Be aware that it doesn't have a quick release mount which means you have to screw it on and off each time you use it. Read the rest of this entry »

I focused the camera on the dash of the car and then turned off auto-focus so that the camera would never shift focus while driving. With the camera operating in Av mode the shutter speed would vary and I think the effect would have been better had both aperture and shutter speed been set. You will definitely need it. With my interval set and my camera settings locked in I simply drove around town. I used aperture priority mode but afterwards I think I should have used manual. Well, I did drive a few blocks and then stop and checked to make sure the images were exposed correctly. I took a few single test shots to make sure I was getting a proper exposure. While I generally shoot RAW, in this case I shot large JPEG so that I could more easily import the frames into Adobe Premiere without having to do excessive post processing. I ended up with 363 individual images which if my math is on target is about 30 minutes worth of driving. After that I drove around for a bit....
Podcast 315 : What’s in the Bag? – Nature and Wildlife
For my portrait work where I’m most often either working close to the car or even if I travel by public transport, I’m usually working with a client nearby, I have started to use the ThinkTank Photo Airport Security II bag that we looked at in... You can fit the 600mm F4 lens in the Kiboko as well, but it takes up pretty much one side of the bag, so I generally take my 600mm F4 lens in a Canon bag made just for this lens, as we see in this photograph (below). When I fly with the 600mm, I generally put it into the bag, and put the cameras and bodies that I no longer can fit into the bag into my pockets and my laptop carry on. I also put the white bag for the 600mm into my checked luggage though, and......
