I have a Panasonic DMC G1 ( micro 4/3 mount), And I want to get a zoom lens.
I can either buy the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-200mm or, I can get a nikon F mount lens (like the Tamron AF-S 18-200) and buy an adapter for it.

You probably will also not have a working meter in your camera using the adapter mount.
Cheaper usually doesn't equate good quality. Read the rest of this entry »

Useful book if you are learning the camera MB I saw this book right after it was written. This book is a comprehensive guide to the features and operation of the Panasonic Lumix LX5 digital camera. GTMax 2pcs DMW-BLC12 Replacement Li-Ion Batteries for Panasonic Lumix G DMC-GH2 Digital Camera Review
I then placed the apparently dead generic battery (one of the two I bought from this merchant) into the battery charger, plugged it in, and--the charging light didn't come on, and wouldn't come on after repeatedly removing and reinserting the... One of the batteries charged in the battery charger supplied with the Panasonic Lumix GH2, and worked for just one session (less than an hour) in the camera. I took the battery out and put the original Panasonic Lumix battery in the camera, and the camera started and worked fine. When I turned the camera back on in a few hours, it wouldn't start. it was as though the battery were dead. both looked as generic (and counterfeit) as possible.
Casio Exilim EXZ50 5MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Review
no waiting for the camera to "boot up" once you turn it on. Even more importantly, it saves photos to the memory card very fast (my Nikon used to lag a bit) so you can take several photos in quick succession. Tons of great features -- read about them on the site I mention at the end of this review [sorry, Amazon edited out the site]. I do have a minor quibble in that the LCD display is a bit dark in low-light conditions. Maybe that's just a given, but on the Nikon, the display was bright even in low-light. Getting your photos to your PC is so easy: just put the camera in the docking station and hit the "USB" button. Oh, and the pictures turn out great. The LCD is a good size, especially in relation to the camera. So far, the battery life has been great. The EXZ50 is very small, so it's a cinch to carry around. Also, the macro mode...
still, it can support the electronic viewfinder accessory originally designed for the larger Panasonic GF1, and it can certainly fire a Panasonic or Olympus flash directly or via a hot shoe adapter. The predecessor to the Panasonic LX5 -- the 2008 model year Lumix LX3 -- was a huge success both in the enthusiast camera market in general, and with Imaging Resource readers in particular. The Panasonic LX5's Flash-open lever moves to the right to release the pop-up flash. The new Panasonic LX5 sports enhancements in almost every specification (resolution stays the same, at 10. It has a hot shoe, though the Panasonic LX5 is unlikely to carry any but a small flash. The Panasonic LX5 reminds us of a rangefinder, but one built to modern standards--and without an optical viewfinder....

Nikon COOLPIX P500 12.1 CMOS Digital Camera with 36x NIKKOR Wide-Angle Optical Zoom Lens and Full HD 1080p Video (Black) Review
Almost to the person the folks I interacted with were pleased to very pleased with this camera. One of the universal ones was the faux pas with a complete lack of filter attachment One thing that has me puzzled is when taking a photo in the camera's B&W mode, it will not focus properly if fully zoomed out. However I did notice if I ran the zoom out and THEN turned on the video, it seemed to be able to grab focus on the subjects much better. Shared experiences with others and got some slick pointers from some too. Again, doesn't make sense to me, but I will be interested in others that try it and if they have the same experience. I got to work with the video more, and I had very bad luck getting it to focus. This appears to be a glitch to me, it makes no sense, however it is what I experienced while shooting....
