Initial Impressions and Hands On With The Fuji X-Pro 1 | Thomas ...
After months of deciding and going back and forward in my head as to whether to get the Fuji X-Pro 1 or the Sony Nex 7 I finally came to a decision. I’m now the proud owner of a shiny new Fuji X-Pro1. While the Nex7 is a more than capable camera, in the end just couldn’t get excited about the prospect of shooting with the Sony. but I really wanted to see why everyone was raving about the Fuji. I’ve only had it for a few days now, but I’m beginning to understand. And yes, I know that the photographer takes the picture and not the camera (apparently some people believe that to such a degree that they seem to suggest that no one should ever buy a new camera, ever, because that’s a crime against the art) so let me explain my reasons for wanting it.

Fujifilm FinePix F10 Digital Camera Review
With its 6.3Mp CCD (charge-coupled device) and £299 price tag, the Finepix F10 is clearly trying to mix it with the big boys. But while Fuji pumps its money into that sizable CCD – and the F10 certainly captures decent-quality images – the rest of the camera gets left behind. Light on features and finesse, the F10 simply can’t keep up with the competition.
This isn’t to say it’s not a competent machine. As well as that hefty CCD’s effortless handling of detail and colour, the F10 has a high sensitivity range: up to ISO 1600. This provides some very decent images in fairly dim conditions – perfect for holiday snaps in gloomy cathedrals. If you are looking for a camera to take on your travels, the F10 would do nicely – it’s small enough for a pocket or day bag but still manages to sport a 3x zoom and a large (2.5in), clear LCD screen.
is this disposable camera going to take good pictures indoors?
The pictures from a disposable camera are never fabulous, but as long as you make sure you turn on the flash and remain within the recommended distances listed on the camera body you should be fine.

20+ Ideal Gifts for Photographers
In this generation, we prefer to tell our stories through the lens of a camera than through the complexities of the written word. Much like the art of photography, the art of giving also needs sources of inspiration. Forget the thousand-dollar lenses or the hundred-dollar filters. That kind of explains why almost everyone knows a photographer, or is one nowadays. Sure, you can still print photos from the digital camera but it’s just not the same, is it. And even if the receiver isn’t a fan of photography now, you could very well turn him or her into one, with these awesome gifts. Kodak Easyshare Digital Frame The last roll of Kodachrome was developed at the end of December 2010 and with it died the photo-album sharing obsession of grandmothers everywhere....
That was fun, while I was doing it, but I am over it. I will bike commute, when I feel like it (and as convenient training), but I really want to get back into bicycling as a fun pastime, as well. When I commute every day, I really don't have much desire to go out on the weekends and ride my bikes with my friends. I have done a few long rides, including more than one century, on this bike and it will be accommodating as my fitness is still in the relatively low range. I don't plan on going back to the daily bike commute. This is another easy-to-ride bike, and it is a known entity. It will be interesting to see if I notice a performance difference between the two bikes....

Olympus XZ-1 review
Unlike the Canon G12 and Nikon P7000, the Olympus XZ-1 doesn't have an optical viewfinder built-in, though given the pokey nature of the Canon and Nikon units, this isn't that much of a hardship. With the exception of the APS-C format models from Sigma and Leica (and Fuji in the next few weeks), the Olympus XZ-1 has the largest sensor of the popular enthusiast-level compact camera collection, with a 1/1. This is only matched by the Panasonic LX5, while the Canon G12, Nikon P7000 and Ricoh GRD III have 1/1. There is, however, a port that allows an optional electronic viewfinder (EVF) to be attached and mounted in the Olympus XZ-1's hotshoe. In the absence of a viewfinder, images are composed on the XZ-1's 3-inch 610,000 dot LCD screen. A larger sensor should give the Olympus camera an advantage as it often allows for bigger photosites, which usually means less image noise....
